I've owned a hybrid so I know how an EV would drive -- they're essentially the same minus the EV has a larger battery and no ICE (internal combustion engine). Loved the way it drove. I also have test driven other hybrids and the Tesla Roadster back when I was invested.

I haven't tried the e-Patriot, but clearly the handling should be about the same. There is no torque issues so the acceleration is ridiculously powerful, unless you're driving a powerwheels toy. For the purposes of GACR, I think the biggest issues will be range, recharge time, and battery lifespan (5-8 years?). E-Care offers refurbishment options.

I sold my hybrid because the 35-40 MPG performance wasn't justifying the premium and battery replacement costs over the lifespan. My non-hybrid version of the same car was off only by 5-10 MPG and my commute round trip is less than 6 miles a day (I take light rail the other 14 miles to downtown), so it made more economic sense for me.

But for businesses doing regular round trips every day, it makes perfect sense due to the amount of miles they go through daily. The economies of scale mean they save money in the long run. Then you have government tax and rebate incentives. This is the niche market the e-Patriot is aimed for.
