But it is bad. Why? Because the dividend is for shareholders of record. A shareholder of record could mean the actual few shareholders who are recorded individually in a companys books and have certs such as higher amount holders, insiders and officers. The company usually doesn't know a shareholder held in street because the brokers keep those names in bulk under company name.
And the shareholders of street name, who aren't technically shareholders of record with the company, will get screwed. Pink scams have pulled this double talk stunt before.
We'll see.
