While, I think you are one of the best at describing the mechanisms of trading I do want to say that the gov't needs to establish a system of real time info in regards to "real short" trading. The whole system is confusing by design and there is no authoritative resource to explain the publicly available data in an easy to understand format.

We see time and time again false statements about short data made on message boards.

There is no place to point a "newbie" to convince them in layman's terms that there is no evil naked shorting conspiracy, and unless they perform an unusual amount of DD there is nothing for them to conclude but that "everyone here has a motive."

The mere fact that your post was so long is evidence enough that these things need to made more simple.

Not everyone is as intelligent as yourself.
