Though I am not 100% certain what you say is correct, it was my first inclination when I learned more about the dividend. I remember being advised not to sell Pepsi stock until I had the YUM shares secure in my brokerage account. (I had wanted to sell appreciated shares to put down payment on my first house.) Anyway, think about the savings one garners with this stock dividend--no trading costs and you get in on an IPO with tremendous potential. And, with our Congress looking to fund Regenerative medicine, the odds that federal funds will ignite the sector as public/private sharing commenced.
