Cliché thinking (the practice of citing clichés as if they hold some sort of inherent proof or relevance) has no bearing in an investment...as if the cliché accounts for every situation and is without exception. Further, for every cliché there is usually another cliché accounting for the opposite argument and thus nullifying the point that someone is trying to make with the original cliché .

For example, the "birds of a feather" cliché can be countered by the "opposites attract" cliché.

While clichés are often used as pithy shortcuts for sloganeering an opinion, they are a fallacious use of flawed logic.
