Dr. Frederick J. Leonberger, also knonw as Fred, Ph.D., is a Co-Founder of TeraDiode, Inc. Dr. Leonberger serves as the Principal at EOvation Technologies LLC. He has been the Senior Advisor of Lightwave Logic, Inc. since December 30, 2011. He serves as a Senior Advisor at Research Laboratories for Electronics and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been active in optoelectronics for over 25 years. He served as a Technical Advisor of SPI Lasers Plc since 2005 and served as its Special Advisor. He founded EOvation Advisors LLC since 2003. Dr. Leonberger joined JDS Uniphase Corporation in 1995 and served as its Senior Vice President from July 1999 to June 2003, Chief Technology Officer from July 1997 to June 2003 and served as its Vice President. He was responsible for strategic technology and was closely involved in the mergers and acquisitions and IP activities of JDSU. His focal areas spanned JDS product development and strategic planning, OEM-customer requirements and assessments of worldwide market trends and technical advances. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at JDS Fitel since 1999. Dr. Leonberger co-founded United Technologies Photonics Corp and served as its General Manager. He has held a variety of staff and management positions at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, United Technologies Research Center, UTP and JDS Uniphase Corporation. From 1975 to 1984, Dr. Leonberger worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He serves as a Director of Alphion Corporation, Menara Networks, Inc., TeraDiode, Inc., Redfern Integrated Optics, Inc. and AXSUN Technologies, Inc. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board of OmniGuide Inc. and Signal Lake Management LLC. He serves as a Member of the Advisory Board at CALIENT Technologies, Inc. He served as a Director of SPI Lasers Plc and Agility Communications, Inc. Dr. Leonberger served as a Director of RF Micro Devices Inc. since September 2002. He also served as a Member of the Technical Advisory Board of Essex Corporation. He was the President of the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Quantum Electronics and of Optics Letters, and as the Chairman of several IEEE OSA conferences. He is a Member of the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Leonberger is a Fellow of IEEE and OSA. He has more than 15 patents, 40 archival publications and 125 meeting presentations in the areas of opto-electronic devices and their applications in communications, sensing and signal processing. He has been awarded the IEEE Quantum Electronics Award and Mellenium Medal and the UTC George Meade Medal. He holds an SM, an E.E and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, all in Electrical Engineering and a B.S.E. degree from the University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering.

Oh I just noticed Leonbeger served as a Member of the Technical Advisory Board of Essex Corporation, Turpin was an Essex cat, Small space these guys play in, Oh I just noticed that Rusty Toppings was an Essex cat too, I probably knew it a few years back and forgot it) the next thing you know we’ll be hearing from KEYW.
