Let me summarize:
What is the reality is this: the LQMT-CIP-APPL MTA agreement pre-dates the LQMT-MTRN agreement, the LQMT-ENGEL agreement, and the LQMT VPC agreement.
So when you say the LQMT CIP APPL MTA does not supercede the LQMT Engel and LQMT MTRN agreements, that simply is not true true, no matter how often you say it. THE MTA agreement is a capstone in the CE market and not only precedes the other 3 agreements but supercedes all of them in the realm of CE.
Do you think, for example, that Materion can supply its ingots to anybody in the CE market? Why do you suppose that the LQMT MTRN agreement is NON_EXCLUSIVE? It means they have to defer to APPL.
Simarly, do you think that Engel can sell their machines to anyone they want? Of course not. Engel has also a NON-EXCLUSIVE agreement with LQMT. It is because APPL has the right to ask ANY machine maker to build an injection molding machine to their spec.
APPL is keeping its options open, and by contract (MTA) can do anything it wants without ANY ROYALTY from either an INGOT SUPPLIER or MACHINE SUPPLIER going to LQMT. APPL also has the rights to use the Whoopy Dee Do add on vacuum chamber technology on any machine it wants to use, including the machine designed by Bill Johnson of Caltech and Glassimetal Technologies. Do you think Andy Waniuk has stopped talking to Bill Johnson, who more or less being forced out of Liquidmetal, the company he founded with Gerry Croopnick (God rest his soul) and Dave Scruggs (God rest his soul), the one mentor who along with Atakan Peker taught him all he knew before leaving LQMT to go work for APPL?)
And what makes you think that GELBERT is the one who developed the vacuum chamber and not Andy Waniuk at Apple? Because Tom STeipp said that LQMT in conjunction with Engel made it. Or that LQMT in conjunction with MTRN developed the LM105?
Did you know that MTRN has a much longer standing relationship with APPL than LQMT ever had with APPL?
Did you know that ENGEL has been selling machines to APPL a WAY LONG AGO (i.e via FOXCONN===APPL paid for all the machines)
LQMT is going along for the ride on the backs of ENGEL and MTRN....NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
We have seen how capable LQMT mgmt is in the way they negotiate contracts and hire FOT (friends of Tom) to the key positions of the company.
Gelbert is the only enigma........
Perhaps someone in LQMT plays chess and met him at an international chess competition.
YES, the LQMT CIP APPL MTA agreement prohibits any add-on costs via a royalty being attached to any of the suppliers it chooses to utilize.
You really need to understand this and understand it well.
STEIPP was very short-sighted on the revenue side in making the give away deal with APPL (YES, TOM STEIPP made the deal in the many months ahead, while being a paid LQMT consultant to APPL prior to the signing of the MTA in August of 2010. Steipp signed on as CEO the day after the signing of the MTA, but that is totally misleading. He orchestrated the whole deal. Sure we get all of the technology developed by Apple during the original and extended capture periods, but let me re-assure you and many others:
A PATENT PORTFOLIO is simply that. It is not revenues.
Now, what makes anyone think that LQMT is more competent to make revenue from the Patent Portfolio than LQMT?
I wonder...............
PS Tony Chung underwrote with a rubber stamp the agreement (MTA) that Apple crafted. This is why we have done far many more dilutions than John Kang ever did prior to Aug 2010. Steipp and Chung are give-away artists.
Screw the patent portfolio.
WHERE ARE THE REVENUES?
I will tell you where they are. The revenues are in the pockets of all of Liquidmetals competitors. And why is that?
Simply because we have not had a competent NOR COMPETITIVE management.
COMMON SENSE has not prevailed at all in the IVORY TOWERS of LQMT.
Why would you give NON_EXCLUSIVE agreements to BILLION DOLLAR companies, but agree to give an EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT to VPC who prior to the agreement, HAD NEVER DONE ANY MIM manufacturing at all?
The best hope would be that the TWITTER rumors are true.
But we all know that is not going to happen.
