So what's the best course of action here?

I'd like to get some or all of our money back but I'm not holding my breath on that one. You can't get blood from a stone.
It might actually be worth it just seeing Zig and possibly Jamir locked up for a very long time in a miserable prison where they belong.

I'm looking into filing a lawsuit with an attorney, but I'm not sure if I should go the civil or criminal (or both) route here.

I'm thinking of just starting with the civil lawsuit and then through that having the attorney contact the local DA to see if there can be criminal prosecution ala Enron and Worldcom.

Let's share thoughts here on the best way to make Zig pay dearly for his crimes.
