Apple tends to only purchase companies that have a direct connection to it's products. I don't know of them ever purchasing a manufacturing company. Usually then tend to invest in them rather.

Still it doesn't mean Apple couldn't exclusivity buyout forever it's sapphire business and the tech they have to manufacture the glass.

But like GTATs solar business, I don't think Apple would care for?
