It is finally dawning on some people that rumours (of a premium buyout or whatever) are not necessarily true, no matter how credible the rumours may sound. So what if somebody talks to management? What if management are the ones deliberately planting rumours for their own interest, ultimately at the expense of the small shareholders? If official announcements by management fail to come true, how likely are the rumours to come true?
I am not trying to rub anyone's nose in it, but just pointing out that there are some basic lessons in investing to be learned from this PTQ fiasco. It's dog eat dog out there, even when the other dog acts like he's your friend.
