I have to agree with tomtom.

This is a perfect example where politics is polluting common sense.

Detroit has never been the metallurgical center of the United States. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Youngstown, Ohio, (the golden triangle of the steel industry) Gary, Indiana, Birmingham, Alabama, perhaps.

This is a slap in the face of the pioneers of the metallurgical heart of America. Detroit received the beneficience of these cities of products fabricated under sub-contract to Detroit.

Note the complete abscence of the universities specializing in bulk metallic glasses: CalTech, Yale, MIT, Wisconsin, all of them, except perhaps the Colorado School of Mines, which has always been captive to the extraction industry (but recently amorphous metals).

Note to the inclusion of the Machinists Unions.

Note the exclusion of specialty steel makers like Carpenter, Allegheny,

This placement is not based upon the realities of the world and the direction it is going.

It is catering only to a bankrupt city which dug its way to where its at due to unions.

This shows you a perfect example of why the LQMT disruptive technology has been repressed.

But thanks for the post.
