DJ Ericsson Gets HSDPA Order From Mobilkom Austria Members

STOCKHOLM (Dow Jones)--Telefon AB LM Ericsson (ERICY) said Thursday it has received an order for supply of HSDPA to members of the mobilkom austria group.
Financial details aren't provided.
Ericsson will upgrade their third generation networks to HSDPA, thus boosting the performance of mobile broadband.
The system rollout has already started and the network of mobilkom austria was first launched in Vienna in January this year.
Ericsson will deliver commercial HSDPA hardware and software as well as implementation services enabling the members of the mobilkom austria group to expand their third generation services offering to include advanced multi-media services.
The contract also includes future rollout of new base stations including HSDPA functionality in Austria and Bulgaria.
With 3.4 million customers and a market share of 39.1%, mobilkom austria is Austria's leading mobile operator.
The company is wholly owned by Telekom Austria AG (TKA), which is listed on the Vienna and New York stock exchanges.
The mobilkom austria group includes mobilkom austria, Vipnet in Croatia, Si.mobil in Slovenia, Mobiltel in Bulgaria and mobilkom liechtenstein.
