Ericsson expands network expansion contract with Cingular Wireless
Feb 16, 2006 (NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT via COMTEX) -- Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Thursday (16 February) that it had been awarded an additional UMTS network expansion contract from Cingular Wireless for delivery of mobile broadband services.
The agreement expands Ericsson's role as a major supplier and integrator in the build-out of Cingular's next-generation voice and data network.
With the contract expansion Ericsson will provide Cingular with UMTS/High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) packet core and radio network equipment.
Ericsson is also a supplier of professional services to Cingular, the company said.
Financial details were not disclosed.
