How willfully ignorant! And the only thing crystal is your shiny dome.

HW and JL sold Clark fairy tales. They conveniently did not disclose anything negative they did not need to (public information) in the process. GE was just along for the ride with his old boss and absolutely inherited a mess much greater than either Clark or GE ever realized.
