Brazil? Don't know much about them. But the WIPO/PCT process is a long and winding one for filings in foreign countries. First there is the filing in WIPO/PCT with all the countries named you want to get a patent in. Then there is a wait of about 12-18 months - followed by a publication of the application. Then there is the ISR - International Search Report - by the designated search authority which outlines your particular situation wrt the prior art. All this takes time. Then you must actually go through the process of asking for a patent in all the designated countries and prosecute your case in those places. More time passes. Sometimes you just get your patent in the USA and Europe and that's it. If you want worldwide coverage that is another route all taking time and money.

Bottom line - wait for 5+ years from first filing. And do NOT be in a hurry!

Are there speedups? Not sure - don't think so.
