LQMT ONLY works in "Engel" equipment. It took tons of IP and testing and re-tooling to solidify the process to work right w/ LQMT alloy (per LQMT 3rd Q" audio report).

3 "Q" REPORT 11/6/13: During the third quarter, Liquidmetal continued to deliver prototype shipments to new customers and made further advancements on commercialized production processes.

***Prototype shipments in the aerospace and defense industry represented a positive step in the future commercialization of our product. The success story in this case was the canard for Lockheed Martin’s EAPS missile. The canard is scheduled to be part of a live flight test early next year (2014).

***The announcement of the availability of a standard Liquidmetal injection molding system from ENGEL, one of the world’s leading suppliers of injection molding equipment. These machines have already been quoted, have a standard availability, and can be installed and supported anywhere in the world.

Other MIM equipment mfgs. (like "Smith" etc.) don't have access to LQMT alloy thru "Materion" or the IP to jointly re-tool their equipment effectively.

CEO Tom Steipp said "LQMT and Engel co-developed the modification to the equipment so LQMT alloy can be used to make parts MUCH faster than APPLE's current CNC method.

NO ONE else HAS or CAN say that....

That has to be a positive for LQMT as a "TURN-KEY" solution provider through expert partnerships.

IMO - APPLE would be foolish to not use Engel machines and LQMT alloy (thru "Materion" ?) for various CE components to cut costs ....in the near future. CHINA has a VERY PRICE $$$ competitive market and APPLE admits they need to LOWER their unit costs....
