Regarding your conversation with the CEO (and any prior conversations for that matter); his track record of being guile has been evidnet.

Is it possible he has been (or could be) less than forthright with you during your conversations with him. Are you different than any other SH?

He has more than likely told so many different versions of the same story, he has lost track of what he has said and to whom he has said it to.
