Good question.

I'm curious to know how long their molds last before they need to be replaced.

The last time I checked with Bill Johnson at Caltech, he said that the key to his plunger machine was that he operated at a much lower temperature than the Engel machines, greatly increasing the life of the molds.

The replacement costs of molds after amortization is a significant part of the unit price of a small item like Steipp is manufacturing

Anybody know what Johnson and Demetriou are accomplishing at Glassimetal Inc?
