The problem with that statement is that nobody in the debate over option accounting is talking about eliminating employee ownership. On the contrary, current option accounting reform aims to reflect the economic reality that options are compensation expenses. And that is really the proper starting point for improving employee ownership without creating the massive misallocations of capital that happened during the 90s.
