Johnking29 - the facts are there and it's a very simple matter. It's all about what is the current treatment guidelines. If what you say was true and agreed by the scientific community then why is it that the treatment guidelines by the NCEP and VA are as follows? This is all that matters and the FDA is merely in keeping with the program...these are the facts, and not emotion

A. VA/DoD Lipid Guidelines

TG >200-499 mg/dL
Lifestyle management
• Weight loss
• Alcohol cessation
• Secondary causes

B. ATPIII (NCEP) Guidelines

TG >200-499 mg/dL
First-line therapy:
Weight reduction
• Increased physical activity

Second-line therapy (drugs to
achieve non-HDL goal):
Statins (LDL, VLDL)
• Fibrates (VLDL-TG, VLDL)
