I agree 100%, every time the "Government" gets involved it really does get worse, just watch the current health care fiasco, I really don't see how you can protect people from themselves, there is always going to be some type of scammers out there, the old saying has much merit " A fool and his money are soon parted "
Although I do think once you are caught in a scam then you should be punished.
After spending some time on some boards here recently ( TDEY, NTEK ) it still amazes me that people will throw money into these things without ever doing the first bit of research, and really expecting to strike it rich, some of these poor saps already have all the millions they are going to make spent already, I guess we can attribute it to gold rush fever, the allure of instant riches is too hard to pass up. I just wonder where these people get all this cash to just throw it away?
Anyway I do think something has to be done for sure, just don't believe more SEC enforcement will help any of these fools
