The Motley Fool compiled a theoretical short position portfolio of promoted stocks several years ago. If I recall correctly, the average rate of return as a percentage of the short sale price entry point was ninety something percent. With a well diversified portfolio, how is this unlike shooting fish in a shallow barrel?
