Thanks for the welcome. I'm new at IH & this is my one & only alias.
I would expect security to be the biggest growth market within the Internet world. No longer seeing much chance of making money w/ MSFT ORCL etc. in the near future my senses have led me here. With this market so unforgiving I've pretty much stayed on the sidelines & remained in $$$ & long term holds since the implosion.
WAVX seems to always headline here @ IH as it did @ the Fool, SI, RB so i've been checking it out. It's been a lot to take in, but from what I can see if they pull off what they have in mind this could be enormous.....of course jmho.
I do have a question/s of sorts if you don't mind.
I don't know all the specifics about Wave. But, anything "trusted" involves encryption. The problem with encryption is with exporting and with the actual encryption technique. It is unlawful to sell encryption techniques that the US Govt doesn't approve (I read into this; if they cannot break it, you cannot sell it). Also, exporting encryption products is strictly controlled by the US Govt. If Wave has an export license, then it should be smooth (they probably do since their product is being sold by OEMs, I assume, all over the world). I'm curious as to the Wave products and what encryption technique they use. The authentication part (identification), I think, isn't covered by export restrictions.
From the TEIS press release @ wave .com I read:"The teaming agreement envisions that Wave will supply its computing solutions products....."
I extrapolate from this statement that Wave has or soon will be squared away w/ Uncle Sam.
So the question is: Are my assumptions correct& am I on the right track?
TIA
..and sorry if this has all been hashed out previously
I am just a blind squirrel trying to confirm that he has indeed found a nut.
Regards
Elan
