The NP-1 is delivering 4K today over internet speeds as low as 6 mbit/s at 2160p30 using H.264.
The NP-1 will be upgraded to deliver 4K HEVC.
nVidia does not currently have support in h/w for HEVC
NanoTech has licensed an HEVC code library that runs on Cortex processors and can decode 1080p on the Tegra 4 now. That code is being updated to run in GPU and will be released to deliver 4K HEVC at 2160p on the NP-1. nVidia may at some point offer HEVC for the Tegra 4, but there is no timeframe for it.
This is my last post with regards to HEVC and NP-1 as I have addressed this question many times with the same answer.
