Additional responses to Martha's blog about her MSE supplements. There were two new concerns that were posted, which were answered via Carl Germano, Chief Science Officer at Inergetics. I think he did a great job in answering and it looks like there will be another FSI w/coupon coming out January 12th, which was in Martha's response to Gloria. Cheers!

Our Line of Martha Stewart Essentials
Recently, The New York Times ran a fascinating article about the importance of vitamins to the human body. Click here to read the article. I have always been a firm proponent of taking vitamin supplements and I really understand their benefits. I have to confess, however, that I was never quite satisfied with what was available commercially and felt it was time to help create something that could become an affordable part of women's everyday health routine. We partnered with the wonderful company Inergetics, a leading developer of nutritional supplements. Working closely with their science experts, we developed six formulas guided by science and holistic medicine, using natural, whole-food ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The formulas focus on specific needs (Graceful Aging, Digestive Health, Bone Support, Menopause Support, and Hair, Skin & Nails) as well as supporting overall health and wellness (Women's Multivitamin). I hope you'll try these supplements and please let me know what you think. They're available at Walgreens and also at marthastewartessentials.com.

Our line of Martha Stewart Essentials is now available in six condition-specific formulas.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

I love Martha and see her as a real testament to what a great 72-73 year old can look like. But I am so disappointed by these products-- they are full of chemicals and are being marketed very deceptively using meaningless buzz words like "natural" (which has no regulated meaning in anything but meat and dairy categories, absolutely meaningless in supplements), and "made with whole foods". They are full of chemicals and fillers. are not GMO free, etc. So dissappointing. I would have been so impressed if Martha had launched a line of truly Certified Organic supplements. Naturally Nova Scotia Organics offers over 100 of them.

Hi Martha- I know you tough New England women have special needs and wants, but so do us big tough macho men who are out all day hunting and gathering. I'm keeping a sharp look out up in my cows nest for manly health care products for men that might pop up on the horizon.

Martha,
I saw these at Walgreens a couple months ago and had no idea you had this available. I have been taking 3 of them (Hair, Skin & Nails, Multi-Vitamin, & Menopause Support) for the past couple of months and I can really notice the boost it has given me, not to mention how nice my hair is looking these days. I will be adding the Bone Support as soon as I finish up on what I have been taking.
I am surprised you haven't started advertising these on TV yet. I think so many women could really benefit from them. You are living proof of how a healthy lifestyle can keep one looking so good as they age. You should plan another visit to the Dr. Oz show to discuss your healthy living lifestyle and these wonderful supplements for women. Women need to be made aware of these whole food supplement alternatives that make much more sense than all those other vitamins available.
Are these only available at Walgreens? I have looked for them at Walmart and my neighborhood CVS, but didn't see them anywhere. Unless of course you are selling these exclusively at Walgreens, which might be the case.
Thank you for sharing your healthy food secrets through these supplements. I have noticed a difference in how I feel and the next time I see them on sale again at Walgreens I will stock up on more.

To answer Gloria G's question, I reached out to Carl Germano, Chief Science Officer at Inergetics. Here's what he had to say -
"I want to thank you for your inquiry into the Martha Stewart Essentials line of whole food based nutritional formulas. We take meticulous effort to source most of the nutritional ingredients from natural sources and you will note we focus on plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables in the line - even in the vegetable capsules for all of the products! Regarding other non-active ingredients, the use of important processing ingredients such as vegetable cellulose, silica and magnesium vegetable stearate are commonly used as anti-caking agents or to make the powders flow evenly in the vegetable capsules. Why are these used? - to assure that each and every capsule contains the right ingredients in the right amount. This is part of our overall quality controls employed to make sure you get the best quality product. Our Martha Stewart Essentials Whole Food Multivitamin is the best place to start."
Gloria, you should also look in your local newspaper on on January 12th for a discount coupon.

Hi Martha. I was very excited when these vitamins became available. Unfortunately the Walgreens stores here only carry three of the six. Nevertheless I've been taking those three every day and have noticed very good improvements. One of the "perks" of taking the Hair, Skin & Nails is that the collagen is such good quality that it has even helped my joints and alleviated much of the discomfort from arthritis! I hope you'll continue with these, as I'm looking forward to continuing my regimen.

In response to Tracy's comment, Carl said -
"Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Martha Stewart Essentials line of nutritional formulas. With respect to the comment that they are full of chemicals, the entire line provides nutrients from both food/plant sources as well a pharmaceutical grade vitamins as used in numerous published clinical trials for their efficacy and safety. The comment that they are deceptively marketed as "natural" which is a vague term and only applies to foods, we agree with you and that is why you do not see the word "natural" on our boxes and labels even though many of the vitamins, minerals, herbs and foods used in the formulas are from natural sources. To assure the quality of the entire line of Martha Stewart Essentials nutritional formulas, it is important you understand that each and every product is rigorously tested to meet the stringent Prop 65 guidelines for herbicides, pesticides and heavy metals - a concern for all products containing plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables regardless of whether they are "organic", "GMO free" or not. Lastly, the entire Martha Stewart Essentials line is certified by NSF - a third party auditing organization to assure quality and safety of supplements on the market."
