Apparently Swatch has already filed more than 20 patents on the use of Liquidmetal. They already use Liquidmetal as a spring in the anti-shock system for the new anti-magnetic Co-axial Calibre 8508, which will be shipped at the end of this year.

I just found this information in a new blog, which is called TechInsighter.

In combination with the Engel Machinery and the royalties Liquidmetal will receive for each Liquidmetal product manufactured on this machinery - kabooom!

Omega wants to introduce the new anti-magnetic watch movements to their whole collection! Considering that Omega has an annual production of more than 500.000 watches and assuming the average cost of an Omega watch is around 5000$, this results in an annual revenue of 2,5 billion. If they only use 25% of Liquidmetal in their watches and if Liquidmetal gets at least a 1% royalty, this will result in a profit of $6,25 million a year!
