Whoever gave you that information you claim to have, upon which, based on your own admission as evidenced by the statements made here on this forum, you sold your shares could be liable as could you.

Yes, shareholders sharing of information is not against the law. But shareholders spreading malicious lies disguised as "rumors" or as you would put it "word on the street" that are injurious to the company and other shareholders could be liable for other offenses.
