LG signs a $285m royalty deal with Interdigital

LG Electronics announced Thursday that it concluded a licensing deal with Interdigital Communications Corp of the US. Based on the deal, LG pays 95m dollars to the wireless technology company for three years to 2008. The amount includes the royalties for technologies LG had used in the past.



Interdigital, most of whose revenue comes from winning licensing lawsuits, is a developer of wideband wireless technology. It is in litigation with Nokia over the royalty issue and also is in arbitration with Samsung Electronics and Pantech Group.
