OK, maybe I can answer my own question

about the Sandsurf2k posts;

the main point was to convey immediacy of settlement;

a manipulative financial motivation might be to persuade feb call holders to
keep holding while sandsurf's employer unloaded those calls at or near the high premiums, which have subsequently eroded.

Apparently I'm overexposed on Feb40s and eager to latch onto
reasons to hold them, especially now that they are slightly underwater. Emotion impinging on logic once again...
