Wildfire To Deploy BelAir's Gear in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Wildfire Broadband Wireless Communications is deploying an outdoor Wi-Fi mesh network in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The network will use equipment from BelAir Networks, supporting access speeds of up to 6 Mbps downstream and 2 Mbps upstream.

The deployment will complement the city's $1 billion downtown revitalization effort. Wildfire's initial coverage is planned for City Hall and the city's downtown business district.

Wildfire plans to offer high-speed services to both consumer and business customers in the area. In addition, Wildfire is offering services to mobile carriers to help them connect their subscribers in Scottsdale.

Randy Carrero, Wildfire's president and CEO, stated that BelAir's system was selected for the network because of its performance, capacity and quality-of-service support capabilities.

Privately held Wildfire Broadband Wireless Communications is a provider of both wired and wireless communications services and solutions for businesses, campuses and residential communities.
