Albertsons sold out for $17B+

Roughly $10M per supermarket and $4M per pharmacy puts a very clear value on the real estate and retail store value. I'm not sure what impact corporate offices, warehouses and distribution facilities might have on the per store price. I took the number of stores and the total sale price to get those store values.

Interesting show on the NBC TV new magazine opposite 60 minutes on Sunday night showed Albertsons was #2 of the top ten national chains in health code violations per store. I don't think they could compete in the present environment against the big non-union stores so in my opinion they cut back on the QUALITY. The same pressures that are driving GM and Ford into the dirt beat this unionized shop out of business. The stores will clear out all the well-paid help and re-open under a new name.
