While I appreciate the sentiment of the message, that isn't quite what we are seeing. What is happening is millions of people are going to lose their coverage/have their rates jacked up 100+% in some cases.
The health insurance industries have a ninja death grip on the pricing right now and they are CERTAINLY not going to let these policies changes affect their bottom-line. So, to allow the CEO's to keep their yachts, they decided it would be better to pass the expenses on to the consumer.
Historically, rates have come down over time, but in the meantime, people are suddenly unable to afford their own health insurance premiums.
As for an economic boom by allowing people to become more transient in where they go, I think that is a very, VERY optimistic way of looking at this situation. So much to the point, I would even say it is deluded. I mean no offense.
