Its two separate thoughts to a degree. I think its possible the strategy has changed to making the machines, which we know is an LQMT/ENGEL effort for the TURN KEY Machine rather than contracting to make the parts and shipping them to the user. I'm not too clear on the capability of the machine but it seems it will be a basic machine with additions created by LQMT/ENGEL for the users different requirements in size etc. And also different size machines. But 'Turn Key" so the production of parts can be done at the users facility. This seems to be ENGELS approach for machines making plastics.
APPLE could be in the same arena. Buying the machines from Engel, to be placed where ever APPLE desires with support by ENGEL to help develop any additions to the machines for their products. Perhaps the "sheets" etc for the cases.
Once that ENGEL/LQMT joint effort in designing a turn key machine was announced...I felt perhaps many here including me were on the wrong assumption. We may have been right at first...but I have a feeling LQMT and ENGEL came to a decision to keep the marketing plan that ENGEL already had.
with its world wide support and distribution. To make a basic machine to sell to users, so they can make many different parts instead of a continual process of contracting LQMT to design prototypes,
ship them to the contractor for evaluation, back and forth back and forth.
As I said before..we can all speculate on where things are, but be ready for a company to develop a whole knew approach. I think that's what's happened. Even Lockheed Martin...their engineers could create uses for the metal themselves...and then ask ENGEL/LQMT for help if necessary, or design new moulds and test their own prototypes. This is a whole new world in Metallurgy. We know 3D printing can now be done by any company to make any configurations they want..they don't have to contract it out. This same approach may be the ENGEL/LQMT approach. The Metal coming from Materion...or whom ever. But do know LQMT has patents..so their involvement is secured.
