The product apparently will push 100Mbps in each direction on a pair of wires...

I don't think so. I think that it is very clear that NVEI is playing the same bandwidth game that the other companies are doing. Embarq appears to have a total capacity of around 100Mbps over short distances over a single pair. You can slice that up however you want, but the total bandwidth over a single pair will remain the same. You can have 95Mbps downstream and 5Mbps upstream (asymmetric) or 50 down/50 up (symmetric). The total will be the same.

I see absolutely nothing that would indicate that, after all these years of development, delays, restarts, broken promises, etc., NVEI has magically doubled the capability of its product in the last 3 months. If, by some miracle, NVEI has mysteriously figured out how to doubled its capacity, they should immediately release a "beta" prototype and PR. As long as we are having to sell shares to pay bills, we might as well let the public know what is going on so we can sell those shares for a little more.

...ST and Infineon who were adding up both sides of the wire to get to 100Mbps!

So is NVEI, IMO. There is nothing that indicates otherwise. The competition is already very stiff for a product that is still many months from production.
