It doesn't have any effect on Gold but it does effect the GDX which has many Canadian miners in the "basket".

Could be more volatile Monday with lighter volume and fewer mining stocks reacting to spot gold movement.

We are getting close to bargain basement prices, anything under 38 should pay off in the near term.
