Feeney is as tainted as the Spragues. They needed somebody clean. And it's just temporary. There is one positive in all this. Solms is not just a bright guy, but one who cares greatly about his own reputation. If he thought Wave to be worthless, he would have quit by now, and he certainly would not have accepted the active CEO role. He does not have to perform a miracle here and he won't. All he has to do is get things in order and either get a large government contract or find a buyer. Then he leaves with even more impressive resume than before and with some CEO experience, so his next job could be a CEO of a rather large company.
