You're misunderstanding the concept of "new management"...

If a person is brought into a business (any business) to be the Executive Vice-President of Marketing and Sales (like, say, Paulo), that person isn't expected to infuse capital into the company. That's a totally ridiculous concept. That person is brought on board to be the head Marketing and Sales. If anything, the new management team is doing the company a favor by accepting barely a living wage in exchange for their work. This so-called "group of individuals" are helping the existing management to manage the company - they ARE NOT buying it.

Michael Elliot still owns the lion-share of this company based on his shares alone (never mind any other agreements).
