mide...I know you are tired of MF posts, but I feel that since I did get a response from Seth that I should post that response. I also think, after consideration, that I should post my reply. At the very least for the possible benefit of new people on this board, and as an explanation of the shallow thinking that allows for such articles. In defense of GTE...

If you disagree please delete, you run the board. Thanks!

Dear Seth,

Re: GTE

I see now I was mistaken in identifying your article as having an origin in maliciousness. From your response I can see it was just from an inability to comprehend the basics of business and history, and shallowness of thinking.

Your exclusive use of the 10k has the unfortunate result of creating a tunnel vision that ignores continuing development, advances in a business plan, and the peripheral information that allows one to correlate various subjective bits of information into a reasonable assessment of current applicability. In short, thinking!

PR's should never be used in their entirety, but to totally ignore the sum total of all PR's amounts to a dangerous exclusivity of thought. Do you not read the general news and make judgment calls based on the information you absorb and correlate?

What you decry in your response to me, with adequate thought given and both sides of the coin considered from the assessment of all available information, comprised excellent business judgment, outstanding ability to synchronize business objectives, a grasp of the future and a plan to take advantage of what that future holds, plus excellent business sense. Not only that, but your figures for what GTE paid for Hot Zone missed the 666,000 shares of GTE to be paid on the meeting of certain obligations by the developer and owner of Hot Zone. Perhaps, maybe, an excellent find by Mr. Huff and the realization of an exceptional inventor that his fortune lay with those who had a world plan and the business ability to make that plan happen. It's called good sense and seizing the opportunity.

I will avoid expanded reference to your comment that you caused GTE to have to release details on the Russian deal. Try the other side of that coin. Also, while you are thinking about that, check out the bios of the resplendent people that make up GTE's board. IBM,CISCO, and Microsoft would love to have close to that talent and connections. Do you really believe you are more intelligent that this assembly?

Lastly, your reference to Nortel...Sad! That was 15 years ago! A lot of technological advances have occured in the past 15 years that certainly allows for at least the consideration that what was not practical then may certainly be now? There were those in history that said the airplane did not have a commercial future, or would be useful in warfare. The president of IBM, in the 50's, said that the future use of computers would always be limited, and never have a personal application. IBM of the 70's totally missed the future of DOS as a personal use operating system and allowed Bill Gates his fortune.

History is replete with those who had a vision, the ability and drive to turn that vision into a reality, and to succeed where many without vision and ability screamed scam and crazy!

Seth, you really need to study history and learn to think more. It would behoove your trusting readers for you to do so.

Once again, sorry for mistaking your inability to think beyond a very small box as maliciousness.
