Windows update troubleshooter keeps telling me it is fixed but when I reboot it says "failure to configure updates reverting to ..".

The two following components seem to be at root of problem:

CODE800703F1
CODE8007371C

I do not have the Windows disc so repair not possible that way. Is there a copy of Windows 8 in a partition? If so how can I access it and use it to repair corrupt file or registry.

Could also be a conflict with an app but how do I know which one?

Oops just found this ...Ok here is what the error codes mean:

800703F1 The configuration registry database is corrupt. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms838126.aspx

8007371C The SMI primitive installer failed during setup or servicing. (searching I found the suggestion of Run 'sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r /f' If that doesn't eliminate this error can you also update \windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log)

What do I do if I do not have Windows disc?
