Welcome to the discussion. The cost is partially covered by the state's Rebate program and besides the plan that they talk about there, there's also payments where you pay $7 for .5 hours of charging which is off the 350green website:

Rebates cover 50% of equipment and installation (materials and labor) costs up to the following caps:
$3,750 per networked single station (stations that have a cellular or internet connection);
$3,000 per non-networked single station;
$7,500 per networked dual station; and
$6,000 per non-networked dual station.

I would also assume that the $50-60 was an estimate as you can see the video was back in 2011. Though I did post the price I wanted to point out that Chicago and Illinois State govt are involved and that it's possible those prices are subsidized to the consumer and not the actual profit that JNSH will be making per charge. I will dig further into the cost of this with JNSH and have sent them another email about this price structure. As I am on a weekend trip I'll attempt to make a call this following work week.
