Re getting this going at her hospital . Its some what delicate . JL has been writing about educating doctors ....my own experience is that it hasn't been easy for me.

My Kaiser cardiologist and MD completely ignore me ...they want Reduce it data .
At the dialysis unit where my wife works ..Lovaza dominates ...its carried by the Pharmacy ...why change .

So to effect change I've had to search for studies that specifically show benefit for dialysis patients ...and the Indian U study on first yr dialysis patients with EPA , really provided the opening as my wife and her MD's apparently were not aware of it.

So the process has been going like this
Wife says .." had another patient die to day ..cause of death a heart attack " I respond " Interesting new study out showing reduction in events in 1st year of dialysis using EPA etc ...here's a print out "
and
Wife .."some of our patients prescribed Lovaza , but with no insurance coverage ...can't pay for it so they don't use it" So I print out the Vascepa coupon and pt out for those with no coverage , Vascepa is half the cost of Lovaza until the end of the year.

Slow progress ...but at least some progress.
