StoogeNo4...I agree, infrastructure should cost a lot less than the negative pundits calculate.

Soalara is about 160 km from Molo on the existing road adjacent to where the proposed RR is to be built, that is a distance of about 100 miles. At 35MPH it would take about 3 hours one way to Soalara.

They can leave the trailers in Soalara for unloading and next day pick-up. At Molo they can simply hitch newly preloaded trailers for the next day shipment to Soalara. Round trips would be in the order of 6 hours. Six 40 tonne trucks operating 360 days could move 86,400 tonne annually, which is over the 82,000 tonne contemplated for total annual shipments.

If initially we have to ship to Tulear which is an extra 40km, gives a 200km trip which equals about 124 miles. At 42MPH it would take about the same time and they still would be able to use 6 trucks as outlined above.
