Bion is just about ready to start construction on its first urea plant in Florida and a second in Louisiana. See company Technology Overview

The BioNitrogen concept is to gasify biomass feedstock and convert the resulting gas into urea. Biomass is carbon-based and composed of a mixture of organic molecules containing hydrogen, usually including atoms of oxygen, often nitrogen and also small quantities of other atoms, including alkali, alkaline earth and heavy metals. These metals are often found in functional molecules such as the porphyrins that include chlorophyll, which contains magnesium.

Our feedstock will consist primarily of agricultural residual products, including sugar cane bagasse, palm waste, rice hulls, peanut hulls, cotton byproducts and corn stover.

When received, the biomass will be dried, cleaned and ground to a consistent size and gasified. The resultant raw synthetic natural gas (syngas) will then pass through a series of cleaning steps to remove any elements that could be detrimental to the downstream processing.

The clean syngas will subsequently pass through a series of catalytic reaction stages for transformation into the desired end product. During this stage of processing, specific chemicals will be separated out and recycled to the appropriate points in the process.

As a result of the recycling, there will be no requirement for byproduct vent streams. Therefore, up to 100% of the feed carbon content can be converted to syngas and/or the final product, urea.

Beneficial Byproducts

The only byproducts of our manufacturing process will be electricity and ash, and nothing is wasted. The electricity will be used to run our plants and fly ash will be sold to cement manufacturers as a ready-mix concrete additive. Water used in the conversion process will be constantly recycled and reused.ew.

I really think this has potential. I have a small starter position and was contemplating adding soon as the 7's seems to be a safe entry to average down my original pps. thanks for your input. I've heard a few board peeps say they had or are diluting and from watching it daily I haven't seen any sign. thanks again.
