I'll explain it to you. When I buy an investment and it tanks temporarily, no problem. But if it tanks because of a serious problem in the company, it makes NO SENSE to hang on to it with the remote chance that it MAY go up to the price at which I purchased it just so I don't have to admit a loss. I'll sell the bad investment and buy something else that would give me a better chance of making a profit.

So, the stocks in my portfolio are stocks that I purchased for a reason. If I have a dog and hang on to it unreasonably, it's like selling it every day and buying it back. It's a conscious decision.

Likewise, when I hold on to my profitable investments, it's like selling them every day and buying them back. Also, it's a conscious decision.
