You cover BEFORE you are forced to, otherwise you get wiped out completely in the stampede. For shorts allegedly created several years ago, the time to have covered would have been slowly over the last several years as to not cause the BID to rise.

It makes no sense to short a .0001 anyway since even if there is a .0001% chance of the short being real, you have a chance of being totally wiped out, ruined. Thats why there has never been even 1 case of .0001 short squeeze. .0001 stocks sometimes do rally but not because of shorting.

Besides the costs in time and money of maintaining such a position are so astronomical as to be in now way, shape or form worth even attempting.
