Most of the ownership in Petaquilla is located in Central America (Panama and Nicaragua), Canada and Germany. They all trade the stock as PTQ.TO. As a % of the float very little is owned in the US where the stock is traded as PTQMF. Some of the US holders can buy in a US account in C$ as PTQ.TO. (I am one of them)

Depending on the broker the US volume gets reflected in the Canadian volume. A TDameritrade sell/buy of PTQMF shows up in Canada but not in the US. An Etrade transaction shows up only in the US. This has a lot to do with how many shares are in inventory at the broker and when do they do the over the counter (PTQMF.PK)reconciliation. It can change for any transaction.

The only relevant volume is the Canadian exchange volume since you have no idea how the transaction is processed in the US.
