I am watching SCTY.
One thing most of USA does not 'get' (though they will in next few years); is
current solar cycle and human activity increase on globe (BTUs and debris increase, etc.) is causing a drought and moisture alternating weather pattern worldwide. Businesses rarely admit (or plan for) ecological and cultural effects of their products, its placed off-books and kept 'dark'. this is considered good politics, all around.
Problem is you can never really out-run your hidden liabilities . . . witness
the effects of out-of-sight/out-of-mind . . . reality eventually piles up.
Government and the common can very be the backup plan B to handle our failures. We all live i and from the the common and have to travel through it. Some econometric models and thinkers believe technological advancement
and dynamic self-actualization psychology can propel us faster forward, then we are collapsing.
Eldon Musk is one of those special class thinkers and believers.
He lives in the present (not the past) and has his mind's eye on the future.
Witness Solar City leasing and product care model, Tesla EV models, Mining Near-Earth Astro-bodies for rare earths, etc., Mars colonization, Rapid Mass Transit Solar-powered Tube Transportation System, AI Singularity cyborg evolution for human species. Mr. Musk has unique ability (in our species) to approach innovation as open-end and not restrained by ideological and theological and dominance positioning issues.
He blends his projects asymetrically to bring support to each other.
Witness he places solar electric charging units on his EV recharging Stations and uses automated robotic arm units to exchange Tesla EV battery packs in a few minutes, to increase ease, confidence and respect in his EV users as they travel around. He understood America has to have a decent backup to the present out-dated grid system that is independent of petro economics and supplies (including natural gas and wind farms). His spirit of competition free enterprise style has caused great waves in
the energy sector business and transportation fields. He has also done an end-run around traditional business and banking . . . by his leasing models. He is doing what the Administration, Congress, and the FED banking interests have neglected to do . . . reduce citizen expenses and keep them in their homes safer and happier, provided investment in USA capital structure, USA worker jobs, real tangible Hope and Change.
He did not wait to see what others thought or might do . . . he did.
His technological leasing model is changing the table for everyone to the extent others have to follow and he is aiding bringing a real end to the recession humanity is in currently. He does not seek The Nobel Prize for whatever . . . he just does and makes it good for us all (if we stop to think about it). His business model adapts to all forms of technology.
As we keep having more mouths to feed and clothe and house . . . he does it without war and energy shortage. Our planet and species and the universe needs more like him. He does God's work (Good Work) without argument and costume. And, he is a new citizen amongst us.
I would have no problem with being a SCTY investor, as I can.
The management talent that leads his worker on the line and listens to their input is wise, reducing inflation and providing good wages jobs that pay taxes and reduce our deficit. His business models are open-ended to solar cell manufacturers and the eventual increase in solar cell % output eff. Mr. is much alike Mr. Honda was in directness, management style and
innovative freedom . . . as he made vehicles for all the world t use and admire.
