Essentially, Tesla got all the cash for the expensive Model S sedans it sold and rolled that into this quarter’s income.



hmmm, I must be missing something, proves to me that I had to pay more attention in accounting...

It sounds like Tesla leased its vehicles and the bank that approved the consumer loan, gave all the money to Tesla upfront, rather than spreading it our over a certain number of years... wouldn't that mean that Tesla actually made that money during that quarter? They actually had those fund in their account?
