At some point, you have to get either ride the horse or hop off. The further away you are from the barn, the longer the walk back is going to be. If you do not think the horse is taking you to your destination, better to exit now and take your lumps than to wait for the horse to walk off a cliff.

This is what I really do not understand about "whining" in general - if you don't actually like the stock or think it isn't going to do better - cut your losses and move on. It seems unnecessary and a bit demoralizing to your own outlook to sit and bash or moan about a stock that you own and are long on. If you expect nothing good or something terrible, exit before the conference call.

And yes, I would say the same even if you were down from buying in the high teens. You could cut your losses now and save yourself the impending doom of the conference call.
