Interesting script numbers released today.

4493 total scripts, no breakdown between new and refills available.

The interesting things to me
1) Lovaza down 6.29%
2)Niaspan down 5.2%
3) Vascepa down only .3%
4) Vascepa 2.64% of market is highest to date

This is week ending 7/19. The KEY to the week is the prostate cancer report came out July 11 so the full week includes the false and now debunked prostate cancer scare which, my guess is, related to people holding off on refills until they discussed with doctor.

Since Lovaza and Niaspan have large qty of refills they dropped more than Vascepa, would be very interested to see if refills for week was light.

I think we will see a small pop in scripts over the next few weeks as people that were scared talk to the doctor and get some assurance, of course a few will likely not refill just because people are like that and the headline was scary.

There could be seasonality in there and weather but compared to the first 2 weeks of July?

I bet the overall script drop is solely related to the false prostate cancer scare.
